How we write and check our articles
Last updated: October 17, 2026
Trust is the only thing a gaming site really has. This page explains exactly how RigLark articles are researched, written and checked, so you can judge them for yourself.
1. Official sources first
Facts come from the most official source available: the game's Steam store page and official Steam announcements, App Store and Google Play listings and release notes, the publisher's own website, patch notes and support pages. Reputable guide sites and press are used to confirm game mechanics and reception, never as the only source for a number or a date.
2. One specialist per type of article
Each category follows its own method. Guides explain how a game's systems work and what to do first. News covers recent, dated announcements. Reviews weigh strengths and weaknesses and end with a score. Setup articles copy official requirements exactly and explain the settings that matter.
3. A fact-check on every article
Before publication, every article is checked against its sources: dates, version numbers, names, prices, requirements and review figures. The four articles about the same game are also checked against each other so they never contradict. Anything that can't be confirmed is removed, or clearly attributed ("according to…").
4. What we will never do
- Claim we tested or played something we didn't. Our reviews summarize a game's design and its reception; they don't invent hours played or benchmark numbers.
- Copy another site's text. Everything is written in our own words, with at most a short, credited quote.
- Let advertisers or affiliate partners influence a score.
- Recommend ways to get around region locks or a game's rules.
5. How we score games
| Score | What it means |
|---|---|
| 9 to 10 | Exceptional, a must-play in its genre |
| 8 | Great, easy to recommend |
| 7 | Good, with clear flaws |
| 6 | Decent, mostly for fans of the genre |
| 5 or less | Hard to recommend |
6. Images
We use official images published by the studios on their store pages or press kits, with the source and owner credited under each image.
7. Updates and corrections
Games change with every patch. We update articles when the facts change and show the date of the last update. If you find a mistake, email contact@riglark.com and we'll correct it.
